Chapel and Pfrundhaus St. Karl
Charming Baroque buildings
The St. Karl almshouse and chapel in Hospental are two of the most charming Baroque buildings in the canton of Uri. The buildings were comprehensively renovated in 2002/2003 and now look at their very best. The St. Karl almshouse and chapel were built in the upper part of Hospental village in 1721. The chapel was consecrated six years later. It features ceiling paintings, along with stonemasonry in local soapstone by the southern windows.
