Cross country skiing in the Ursern valley
Cross country skiing
The trails run through the Ursern valley from Andermatt via Hospental to Realp. They are designed for classic cross-country skiing and skating. If you don't want to take on the entire trail, you can opt for one of the smaller circular trails in Andermatt or Realp.
Cloakrooms, toilets and showers are located in Zumdorf near the restaurant "zum Dörfli" and in the biathlon centre of Realp. Additional changing rooms, toilets and showers can be found at "The Nordic House". Paid parking spaces are available.
In Realp, cross-country skiers can also glide under the starry sky. The two-kilometre-long night cross-country ski run is lit up every evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
If the snow conditions are good, the cross-country skiing season in the Ursern valley begins at the beginning of December. The 28 km cross-country trails between Andermatt and Realp are prepared daily. On days with strong winds, the small loop in Andermatt is prepared twice a day.
